ABOUT THE INSTITUTE
Shimabala Training Institute (SHINS) is located along Kafue Road, some 6 Km from Chilanga Puma filling station towards Shimabala Toll Plaza. It is located behind Lusaka Water and Sewerage Chilanga Booster Pump, some 2km from Kafue Road. SHINS was registered on 15th July 2019 in accordance with rules and regulations governing business registration under PACRA. SHINS has been described as an institute that would empower the lives of the youth with various professional and academic qualification.
SHINS performs a key function of providing both professional and academic courses to working class officers both in public and private sector as well as to the direct entry grade 12 school leavers. Our courses were developed to suit the current job prerequisites of the employer. Entrepreneurship is a subject that has been mainstreamed into every course so that graduates do not end up dependant on formal employment instead they can start their own businesses. At SHINS students’ needs come first. Our recruitment policy is to accept applications from would be students throughout the year. Our strength lies in the fact that we offer courses that are competitive and have the ability to focus on issues that give learners excellent knowledge preparing them for the right industry. At SHINS, we offer business courses such as Diploma in Accounts (ZICA), Diploma in Business Administration (TEVETA) and short courses. Under medical studies we will offer Diploma in Nursing under (GNC) and Clinical Officer General (COG) under HPCZ. We have planned the Institute to be transformed into Shimabala University in 10 years’ time.
SHINS is registered with Technical Educational, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVETA) and other relevant statutory authorities. We are also registering with General Nursing Council (GNC) and Health Professional Council of Zambia (HPCZ).
